On macOS, installation is very simple. Download MultiViewer, open the DMG, and drag the app to your Applications folder. That's all! You may be prompted to allow network connections, which is required for MultiViewer to work.

Download the installer from the website, and run it. Installation may take some time, but once it's done, you'll have a new icon on your desktop. When opening, you may be prompted with a Windows SmartScreen warning. This is normal, and you can safely click "More info" and "Run anyway". You may also be prompted to allow network connections, which is required for MultiViewer to work.

Installing on Linux is similar to Windows:

1. Retrieve the latest version of MultiViewer for Linux from the downloads.
2. Open the .deb/.rpm file with your package manager.
3. Install the package. You may be prompted to allow network connections, or to enter your password, which is required for MultiViewer to work.
4. The application now runs. You may also get a firewall notification, this is because we start a local server to serve the application's files from, to get around some of the F1 TV/Electron limitations.

The Flatpak is still in beta and has a few known bugs. If you hit one, the .deb, .rpm or zip builds above are the safer choice for now.

The Flatpak we publish is a bundle, not a Flathub app, so flatpak needs the Flathub remote to pull the runtime it's built on. If you don't have that remote yet, add it with: flatpak remote-add --user --if-not-exists flathub https://dl.flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo

1. Retrieve the latest .flatpak of MultiViewer for Linux from the downloads.
2. Install it with flatpak install --user ./MultiViewer-x86_64.flatpak, using the file name you downloaded.
3. Start MultiViewer from your app launcher, or run flatpak run app.multiviewer.MultiViewer.
4. The application now runs. You may also get a firewall notification, this is because we start a local server to serve the application's files from, to get around some of the F1 TV/Electron limitations.

The Flatpak doesn't update itself. When a new version comes out, download the new bundle and install it the same way.

1. Retrieve the latest version of MultiViewer for Linux from the downloads.
2. Unzip the downloaded ZIP file to a location of your choice.
3. Run chmod +x ./multiviewer; ./multiviewer in the folder you unzipped to
4. The application now runs. You may also get a firewall notification, this is because we start a local server to serve the application's files from, to get around some of the F1 TV/Electron limitations.

On a Wayland session MultiViewer tries to restart itself on XWayland, because Wayland gives an app no way to position or drag its own windows. That switch doesn't always work. If windows won't drag, or end up in the wrong place, pass the flag yourself:

1. Download the Linux (zip) version of MultiViewer from the downloads.
2. Unzip the downloaded ZIP file to a location of your choice.
3. Run chmod +x ./multiviewer in the folder you unzipped to
4. Start it with ./multiviewer --ozone-platform=x11, which has been reported to fix window management issues on Bazzite and similar setups.

The same flag works with the other Linux packages: run multiviewer --ozone-platform=x11 for the .deb/.rpm install, or add the flag to flatpak run app.multiviewer.MultiViewer for the Flatpak.
